As Portland’s regional bus and light rail transportation system, Trimet carries more people than any other US transit system its size. But even with its growing pains it has remained a national leader and a model that other cities follow.

When Trimet came to us their Max Light Rail system was experiencing breakdowns at intersections because of a part called a crossing pan. This critical part allows for routes to criss-cross each other and keeps the train’s power lines moving. But the crossing pan was also unreliable and even worse, came from a company in distant Australia. So we recreated the part with better materials and even made a few improvements so they would be more reliable and last longer. Now Trimet has their own local supplier for crossing pans that cost substantially less.
